The Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis), also known as the Dabchick, is a small freshwater diving bird belonging to the grebe family Podicipedidae. It is a resident species in India and is closely associated with wetlands, ponds, lakes and other water bodies with suitable aquatic vegetation.
